Faculty Position in Management Accounting

The School of Accounting and Finance, in the Faculty of Arts, at the University of Waterloo invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Management Accounting. Although recent Ph.D. graduates will be considered, preference will be given to experienced candidates.

Candidates must have, or be nearing completion of, a doctoral degree in accounting or a related field by the start date of the appointment. The successful candidate will have demonstrated an excellent record of (or potential for) both publishing research in high-quality journals and high-quality teaching. While not required, preference will be given to candidates specializing in the analytical (modelling) method. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels, contributing to the service needs of the School of Accounting and Finance, and developing and directing accounting research, education, and practice-relevant thought leadership. While not required, a professional designation in accounting or finance would also be an asset.

The expected start date for the position is July 1, 2024. Starting compensation in the range of $215,000.00 to $270,000.00 is anticipated, based on qualifications and experience. Negotiations beyond this range may be considered for exceptionally qualified candidates.
