Definite Term Lecturer, Finance
The School of
Accounting and Finance in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Waterloo
invites applications for one position at the rank of Definite
Term Lecturer in Finance for a two- year definite
term contract, renewable in accordance with university policy.
The successful
candidate will focus on finance instruction in the School’s undergraduate and
masters programs. Preference will be given to candidates able to teach at the
intersection of finance and sustainability and/or
in the area of asset
pricing and investments. The teaching load is normally
60% of one’s tasks (six
courses a year), with service activities in support of the School, the Faculty,
the University, and/or the profession amounting to the other 40%.
To be considered
for this position, candidates must have a university degree in a
business-related field, preferably with a focus on finance. The successful candidate will also have demonstrated strong potential
for teaching and academic leadership in a post-secondary setting in Canada.
Candidates who can demonstrate thought leadership and are interested in
engaging in executive education or pedagogical innovation will be considered
positively. While not required, a professional designation in accounting or
finance would also be an asset.

The expected start date for the
position is July 1, 2024. Starting compensation in the range of $110,000.00
to $140,000.00 is anticipated, based on qualifications and experience. Negotiations beyond this range may be considered for exceptionally
qualified candidates.
